The history of Manhay in 1944 concerns the fighting that took place during the Battle of the Bulge from December 23, 1944, to January 7, 1945, in which the Americans, the 3rd Panzer Division and the 75th Infantry Division, fought against the German 2nd SS Panzer Division “Das Reich” and the Volksgrenadiers. It was a crucial period in the “Battle of the Crossroads,” which also played a role for the civilian population.
